1. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to your Motion Graphic. Use complete sentences. Try to recall as many of the different tools, processes, and programs available.
I started this project by first reading my client's design brief, I began by writing down some keywords and then made some storyboards about what the client wanted. After I created the storyboards, I created a mood board in Adobe Photoshop by creating a blank document where I added images and fonts that were related to the keywords I wrote, which were "Luxurious, Rich, Sleek, Advanced, Tension, and Fear". Once I made the mood board, I created the logo for my company in Adobe illustrator by creating a blank document and then using the pen and shape tools to create a shark logo which included the company's name "Poshman". After I created that logo, I created another similar logo except with additions to make it scarier like teeth and lightning bolts to adhere to the client's request for a logo that brings fear and tension. When I finished both of the logos, I searched for stock footage and music to use for the motion graphic using Pixybay.com which were a video of a car starting up and a speedometer revving up. After finding the videos and music I wanted to use, I downloaded them and added them into Adobe After Effects where I edited the video by trimming them down and using keyframes to create transitions between clips as well as to animate the logo coming down and being struck with lighting to transform into the second logo. Once I finished editing my video, I exported the video and then uploaded it to YouTube.
2. Evaluate how well your design meets the needs of your client. Based on your ability to meet there needs, what level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding) Why do you think so? Make sure to provide specific evidence.
Based on my client's needs, my project demonstrates "meeting the mastery goal" because my client asked for a motion graphic that delivers fear and tension however my project was unable to envoke the sense of fear and instead instilled a sense of action and thrill.
3. Evaluate your technical skills throughout the project. Was there a program that was easier to work in? Was there a program that was more difficult. Based on your technical ability what level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding) Why do you think so? Make sure to provide specific evidence.
The program that was easier to work in was Adobe illustrator as I am used to working in that program and had used it much more recently than Adobe Photoshop so I remembered how to do most things in that program. The program that was the most difficult to work in was Adobe After Effects as it was the first time that I had used that program and it had very complicated functions and controls which were unlike the other programs we had used in the past. Based on my technical ability, I think my project demonstrates "meeting the mastery goal" because I was able to work well in the programs we had used before but required a lot of support in the new program we used for this project which was Adobe After Effects and unlike the two previous programs I was not able to do complex things with this program thus demonstrating "meeting the mastery goal"
