Vector Landscape

Reflection
1. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to create this project in Adobe illustrator. Use complete sentences. Try to recall as many of the different tools, shapes, and keyboard commands as possible.
I started this project by first sketching a rough outline of what I wanted my vector landscape to look like on a piece of paper, I first wanted to do a cityscape of a car driving along a road next to the ocean, however, I did not know how to incorporate the required elements of the project into that idea, so instead I decided to create a beach landscape and include small little elements that would make it seem like it was "the best vacation ever" by including a lot of things that would be included in a vacation getaway package like a boat excursion and sky diving. I started this project in Adobe illustrator by creating a blank document that is letter-sized which is eight point five inches wide and eleven inches tall, I set the paper orientation as horizontal as I wanted a wide landscape, I then set the background of the document as "white". Once I was in the document I created a rectangle that covered the top half of the document to act as my background for my landscape, I then changed the fill of the rectangle to a gradient and changed the gradient by clicking the"gradient options" and changing to color of the gradient from blue to orange to light blue to dark blue, I also changed the direction of the gradient by clicking ninety degrees for the direction which made the gradient point upwards which would make it look like a normal skyline. After I created my sky for my landscape, I created another rectangle and changed its fill to a darkish blue to act as my ocean for my beach landscape, I followed this by using the curvature pen tool to create my beach by creating four hill esque rectangles that got progressively larger and darker to create a shifting sand sort-of effect when I layered those rectangles on top of one another. After I created my beach, I created a sand castle to go with the beach by first searching for a "Sand Castle Cartoon Image" on the internet, and once I found a sand castle design that I liked, I dragged that image into Adobe illustrator and used the pen and curvature pen tool to trace the sand castle, and then I colored in the sand castle using its respective colors for the fill and made a black outline for it by selecting the stroke color as black. After I created the other small details in my landscape which are the mountain, boat, banana boat, bi-plane, and buoy by using the same steps I had done with the sand castle except with the object's respective images and coloring for the fill. After I created all of the details for my landscape, I moved the banana boat and excursion boat to the middle ground of my landscape, while the mountain, bi-plane, and buoy went into the background of my landscape. Once all of my details were in place, I created the sun by creating a circle using the ellipse tool and changed the fill of the circle to a radial gradient that went from white in the center to yellow to light orange, to create the glow effect on the sun I clicked the "fx" button and selected "Radial blur" and set it to around nine. To create the clouds in my landscape I traced an image of "cartoon clouds" from the internet using the curvature pen tool and changed its fill to white, applied a gaussian blur to it using the same steps as the sun, and changed its opacity to seventy percent. After I finished my landscape, I exported it as an PNG, by clicking file, export as, and then export as png.
2. How do animators and color stylists use Ai in their profession?
Animators and color stylists use Adobe illustrator in their professions by using the Adobe illustrator program to create their work for their clients, which might be a background or landscape like we made in this project.

3. What type of landscape did you set out to create? Did your final product meet the expectations you set for yourself; why or why not?
The landscape I set out to create is a beach landscape, as while I was thinking about what landscape to make I was reminded about Bubblaine from Super Mario Odyssey which is a beach kingdom. My final product did not meet the expectations I set out for myself because it looked a little off once I finished it, what I mean by that its that the perspective I made the landscape did not work out and did not give the effect that it is a big spacial area where things like the buoy and the bi-plane are very far away.
4. Based on the learning target, (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding). What level of mastery do you think your project demonstrates? Why do you think so? Make sure to provide specific evidence.
Based on the learning target, I think my project demonstrates "meeting the learning target" because it meets all of the requirements of the project which were to use a minimum of three gradients, use a minimum of three layers, include a sun/moon, include clouds/stars, include outer glow effects, include three details, include one object that is traced from the internet, and use the shape builder tool, however I feel that my project lacks that complexity and personality to demonstrate "exceeding the learning target". For this reason I think my project demonstrates "meeting the learning target"
